The Challenge
Sung Noen Municipal have been receiving complaints by the residents and travelers nearby about the odor emitting from the municipal waste management landfill plants. Harmful smell are common in landfills and constant exposure to such toxic smell and gaseous substances could worsen the health by causing asthma and other related health issues. The Municipal needed an odor monitoring system that could detect harmful smell and test out it’s chemical solution to reduce the smell of it waste management landfill and PM. In order to adopt odor mitigating measures, they needed an odor monitoring system that could detect such harmful gases and other air pollutants.
The Solution
The portable MUI-Nose was deployed to test the effectiveness of the chemical solution that is to be used at waste management landfills. It can detect harmful smell levels in real-time and notify the waste management team when the chemical solution is wearing off, saving the municipal from community complaints as well as the extra cost of chemical application. With real-time smell data, the portable MUI-Nose gives the authorities an insight into the effectiveness of their smell combat solution. This empowers the Municipal waste management team to adopt appropriate measures to safeguard the residents nearby from exposure to such toxic smell and the levels of gases that could potentially lead to landfill fires.

Monitoring hazardous gas levels at a Gas refinery in Thailand
Our Client
PTT Public Company Limited or simply PTT (Thai: ปตท จำกัด (มหาชน)) is a Thai state-owned, SET-listed oil and gas company. Formerly known as the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, it owns extensive submarine gas pipelines in the Gulf of Thailand, a network of LPG terminals throughout the kingdom.
The PTT Gas refinery in the Rayong province hosts a number of workers every day. It is important to monitor the hazardous gaseous levels that could pose a threat to their health.
The Challenge
PTT Gas refinery was due for an upgrade for air monitoring system that notified them of hazardous gases and particulate matters in the air around their Gas refinery. To optimize the safety and security of the workers in the PTT Oil refinery, detecting odours and harmful gases like nitrogen oxides (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and other Particulate Matters like PM2.5, PM10 were necessary. In times of leakage or when the gaseous levels cross the threshold level, PTT did not have an easy means to procure the information and help warn the workers and the residents of the Rayong province.
The Solution
MUI-Robotics offered its sustainable and patented, MUI-Station, to the Rayong branch PTT Gas refinery.
